Montana cowboy Silas Clark kindly let me use a photo he took  as the reference for this painting.  The original painting, done in oil, won the 2018 Artists' Choice Award  at the Shadows of the Past Auction in Choteau, MT.  This cowboy calmly doctors a calf during a late afternoon ride to check the cows.  I  want the viewer to feel the vast, wide open spaces and skies of the northern Montana prairie.   Limited edition of 250.
